Wellness Care

Traditional Physical Therapy

According to the American Physical Therapy Association, Physical therapists (PTs) are movement experts who optimize the quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. Physical therapy is utilized to assist patients with functional limitations who show medical necessity for interventions to be performed by a state licensed Physical Therapist to maximize optimal human function via reducing pain, improving functional mobility, strength and endurance. PTs perform specific manual (hands-on) interventions, prescribe exercises, teach efficient functional movement patterns to target each individual’s specific symptoms and functional deficits as necessary to promote healthy and active lifestyles.

Wellness Programs

Physical therapists can also assist individuals with symptom reduction, strengthening, endurance training, and mobility to promote optimal function and restoration of an active and healthy lifestyle when it is not medically necessary. Wellness programs are great programs that can bridge the gap for those individuals that do not need medically necessary physical therapy, have completed formal physical therapy and are looking to continue their post-rehabilitation fitness, or are seeking a custom fitness program designed and supervised by an experienced physical therapist.
